Funerals
A piper's role during a funeral service of any faith is extremely deep and touching. As music is the universal communicator, the sound of the pipes is tremendously distinct and can evoke emotions from deep within. For hundreds of years pipers have performed at funerals for heads of state, royalty, veterans and beloved family members.
Adam specializes in funeral services and would be privileged to honour the memory of your loved one through music. His extensive experience and repertoire award him the ability to personalize his services to best suit your wishes. If you have never used a bagpiper for a funeral service, or are unfamiliar with the practices of pipers, the following format is most suitable.
- Piper plays as the funeral procession arrives at church, as the casket or urn is taken into church, and guests enter.
- Piper plays as casket or urn is taken to hearse and as guests return to their vehicles.
- Piper plays as guests gather at the cemetery.
- Piper plays 'Amazing Grace' or another requested tune after graveside benediction.
Of course not every funeral or memorial is the same, so any combination of the above is perfectly acceptable.
Please Contact Adam to reserve a piper. You will recieve a telephone call or email within an hour.
